When a conveyor or automation line stops, every minute counts. LVP Automation carries out electrical fault finding on conveyors, control panels and automated equipment, tracing a fault back to its cause rather than swapping parts and hoping. We work on systems we supplied and on equipment built by others, including panels and PLC programmes we did not write ourselves.
Our team works through the system in order: incoming supply and isolation, protection devices, contactors, drives and motors, sensors and field wiring, and the control programme itself. Once the fault is found we can carry out the repair, and where the panel is the underlying problem we can rebuild or upgrade it to current electrical standards rather than patch it again. We are based in Finglas, Dublin 11 and work with customers across Ireland.
Tell us what the machine is doing. What stopped, what the line was running at the time, whether it trips straight away or after a period, and any fault code showing on the HMI or drive. That usually narrows the search before anyone travels.
On site. We isolate safely, then work through the system in order — incoming supply, protection devices, contactors and drives, motors, sensors and field wiring, and the control programme — until the cause is confirmed rather than assumed.
Repair. Where the fix is within reach we carry it out on the spot. Where it needs parts or a panel change, we set out what is involved so you can decide.
What caused it. We tell you what failed and why, so you can judge whether something needs to change in how the line is run, maintained or protected.
Fault finding often leads into other work. If the control panel itself is the weak point, see electrical control panel building. If the fault sits in the software rather than the wiring, see PLC programming. For planned upkeep instead of reactive callouts, see on-site repair and maintenance. And if the line needs rethinking rather than repairing, see conveyor system design.
Do you work on equipment you did not supply? Yes. We regularly take on conveyors, control panels and machinery installed by other suppliers, including PLC programmes written by someone else.
The line trips intermittently and nobody can find why. Can you help? Intermittent faults are the hardest to pin down, because the evidence disappears the moment the machine restarts. Anything you can record — when it trips, what the line was doing, which drive or sensor was involved — makes the search considerably shorter.
Is it worth repairing an older panel, or should it be replaced? It depends on what keeps failing. If the same device fails repeatedly, or the panel no longer matches how the line is actually run, a rebuild usually works out better over time than repeated repairs. We will tell you which situation you are in rather than defaulting to a replacement.
