Plastic belt conveyors use interlocking modular plastic belting or plastic slat chain instead of a fabric belt, which allows curves, inclines, vertical lifts and full washdown within one family of equipment. LVP Automation supplies modular belt conveyors, slat chain conveyors, aluminium and stainless steel slat systems, vertical conveyors and slat spiral conveyors to food, pharmaceutical, medical device and general manufacturing sites across Ireland.
Because the belt is made from moulded plastic modules running on sprockets, it can be built to any width, driven positively without tracking problems, and repaired module by module rather than replaced whole. Open grid versions drain and dry quickly for hygienic washdown, flat top versions carry small or unstable products, and flush grid and raised rib options handle inclines and wet product. Stainless steel frames are used where the environment demands it and aluminium where weight and cost matter more.
The real advantage is layout freedom. A single plastic belt conveyor can turn a corner, climb an incline and continue on the level without transfers, which removes the gaps where product jams or falls. Where height has to be gained in a small footprint, slat spiral and vertical conveyors do it in one machine.
