Autonomous Mobile Robot (AMR)

Autonomous mobile robots move goods around a facility without fixed conveyor, tracks or wire guidance. They navigate by mapping the building, so routes are changed in software rather than by re engineering the floor. LVP Automation supplies AMR fleets to Irish manufacturers and distribution centres, including autonomous forklifts for pallet movement and mobile picking platforms.

The economics are strongest where people currently spend their day walking or driving between fixed points. Replacing that travel with an AMR frees skilled staff for value adding work and removes a common source of manual handling injury. Because the robots share aisles with people, safety scanners and speed control are built in, and the fleet manager sequences jobs, charging and traffic so throughput holds up across a full shift.

Autonomous forklifts extend the same idea to loaded pallets, moving them between production, storage and despatch without a driver. Mobile picking platforms bring the shelf to the picker or follow the picker through a zone. AMRs are usually deployed alongside fixed conveyor systems and automated storage, taking the variable, long distance moves while conveyor handles the fixed high volume routes.
