The COMPACT is not one machine with one shape. Frames, infeed arrangement and functionality are picked to match the capacity you need and the space you actually have, and it builds right or left hand. That matters because most end-of-line areas were laid out before anyone was thinking about a palletiser, and the usual reason a project stalls is that the standard cell does not fit the room it has to go in.
Infeed can be high or low, and placement height is configurable. If your existing conveyor runs at working height, the cell takes product there without an incline; if the line already climbs, it can take the feed high instead. Either way the decision is made around the conveying you have rather than forcing new steelwork ahead of the palletiser, which is usually the largest hidden cost in a retrofit.
Compact cells often trade floor space for a worse pallet. This one does not need to: controlled motion profiles and product-matched tooling place each pack on the centreline, so layers come out square even in a tight cell. Square layers interlock, take less film to secure and survive being moved and stacked, which is where the saving actually lands.
Tooling is chosen against packaging type, size and stiffness, not just weight. Low-impact motion and centred placement protect pack edges and printed faces, which matters most on light cases, part-filled bags and anything glossy that shows a scuff. Less damage means less rework and fewer credits, and it is usually visible in the first week rather than in a payback calculation.
Cases, trays, crates and many bagged goods. Euro, CHEP and custom pallet sizes run from recipes, with brick, pin-wheel and mixed patterns selected at the HMI, so an SKU change is a menu choice rather than a mechanical job. Rates are confirmed as cases per minute during design, once pack size and pattern are known, and typical cells cover low to medium-high case rates.
Start standalone and add later. A pallet dispenser, slip and layer sheet placement, automatic outfeed, a stretch wrapper handshake, label or marking equipment and vision checks can all be brought in as demand justifies them, and the modular build allows throughput upgrades rather than a replacement. It is worth naming the intended end state at scoping even when the budget only covers stage one.
Below it, the semi-automatic palletiser keeps a person on the pallet change to hold the entry cost down. Above it, the FLOW palletiser takes high rates from a low infeed, the high capacity palletiser covers sustained peak throughput, and the multi-line palletiser runs two or three lines through one cell.
Standard PLC and HMI I/O or fieldbus connects upstream conveyors and checkweighers and downstream pallet wrapping and print and apply labelling, with optional links to WMS or MES. Maintenance is routine inspection of drives, belts, sensors and tooling on a preventative schedule.
