Pallet conveyors move loaded pallets between production, palletising, wrapping and despatch. Built from heavy duty chain and roller sections, they handle both the weight and the awkward underside of a pallet, where lighter carton conveyors cannot. LVP Automation supplies pallet handling conveyors to manufacturers and distribution centres across Ireland.
Chain conveyors run two or three strands of chain under the pallet bearers and are the standard choice for moving pallets across the grain of the timber, for transfers and for turntables. Roller conveyors run along the length of the bearers and suit straight runs, accumulation lanes and the infeed and outfeed of wrapping and strapping machines. Combining the two with transfer units allows a pallet to change direction without a forklift lifting it.
A pallet conveyor line is usually specified around pallet type, maximum gross weight, required rate and how many pallets need to accumulate before the next process. Safety fencing, lift gates and interlocks are designed in from the start. Pallet handling connects naturally to layer palletisers, robot and cobot palletisers and strappers and wrappers, and our engineers can supply the conveyors alone or the complete end of line cell.
